If you have been to Australia or have Australian friends, you may have come across the term "stubby holder". But what are stubby holder called in the US?

In Australia, a stubby holder is a cylindrical insulation jacket designed to fit around a holderard-sized beer or beverage bottle to keep it cold for an extended period of time. It is usually made of neoprene, a material known for its excellent insulating properties. Also known as a beer mug, this stubby holder is a popular accessory at Australian barbecues, parties and sporting events.

The stubby holder isn't just a functional accessory; it's a practical accessory. It is also a cultural symbol. In Australian slang, the word "stubby" refers to a 375ml (12oz) bottle of beer. Thus, the Short Hair Holder becomes an essential companion for Australians to keep their beloved short hair cool while enjoying a cold drink with friends.

But what about in America? In the US, stubby holders are often called "beer koozie" or simply "koozie".  The word "koozie" is a registered trademark owned by Norwood Promotional Products, which introduced the product in the 1980's. Over time, however, the term has become a generic trademark and is now widely used to describe any type of thermal jacket used to keep beverages cold.

Similar to Australia, beer koozies are a popular accessory for outdoor events, parties and tailgates in the US. It's used to refrigerate canned and bottled beverages like a stubby holder.  Koozies are usually made of foam or neoprene and come in a variety of designs, colors and sizes.

In the US, while beer is certainly popular, the cultural significance of koozie is less strong. Americans use koozies for a variety of beverages, including sodas, water bottles, and even energy drinks.  The koozie is more of a functional accessory to be seen at social gatherings, but it doesn't carry the same cultural influence as it does in Australia.
